Required Language Skills
The courses in Eastern European History in the B.A. programme can be attended without prior knowledge of an Eastern European language. In the M.A. programme, language skills in at least one Eastern European language are required.
The two-semester language course ‘Russian for Historians’ is specifically tailored to the needs of historians. Russian I is always offered in the winter semester, Russian II in the summer semester. The course takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:15-5:45 p.m., in room 306 on the 3rd floor of the History Department.
